I will continue my belief that 'Damage Reduction' will break the game, creating situations where low level monsters will be unable to affect players who can afford that armor and widen the gab between 'players who have friends in the game' and 'players who do not have friends in the game'.

I think making it unbreachable would be good. That way if someone wanted a decent set of armor, they could pick it up for under 40 gold

What if the lower level Ancient Helean Armor still granted either lesser breach penalties or left the armor unbreachable?  The production cost could be changed as necessary.

We could keep it to where it never breaches, because it would be kind of annoying to have to spend 3 gold every time the suit of armor is breached. But will it make the armor too good? I will take quite a bit of production to create, so it will still have that nice price tag, plus components. What do you think? Should it lose 3 pts on breach or no?

That's fair as far as the body damage goes since the resistance is tied directly to the armor.  What about the breach prevention that the skills currently grant?  Would that have a skill that would still grant that effect to armor?

I would say a flat resistance to all damage other than body damage such as path of death, blood and things of that nature. Also for Ancient Helean Armor we can give it a max DR of one? I didnt really think about it, but a DR of one is not going to be game braking in my opinion, plus its cost will still be a little pricey.

For that price, it better be flat resistance ;)

That sounds very appealing from a character standpoint.  Will you be wanting to change the effects of the lower level Ancient Helean Armor as well?  You should also clarify whether the damage reduction granted by this armor is bypassed by anything such as magic, alchemy, damage type (slashing, blunt, piercing) or types of metal.  I'm imagining you're wanting it to be a flat damage resistance that would reduce all incoming damage by the amount granted by the armor.

Master crafted ancient Helean armor-   A character who has reached the master level Armor Smith 14 can construct Master-Crafted Ancient Helean Armor. This armor Will provide a damage reduction for each X5 production included into the armor up to a DR 3.   This armor is crafted from a level III component for each level I component normally used.  When making this armor a full forge is used and it costs five times the production for each Damage Reduction to craft up to a maximum of 3.

How does this sound?
