« on: December 07, 2016, 01:01:38 pm »The day began with the execution of Zaardon the Soul Reaper, the necromancer who summoned the pumpkin-headed skeleton that attacked the town last month. However, shortly after Sir Wladamir Sewick sent for the prisoner, a group of bandits launched a surprise attack. After the bandits were defeated, the guard who was supposed to bring the prisoner out to be executed along with the other guards who were at his empty cell were found lying on the ground paralyzed by pain. Sir Wladamir announced a bounty for Zaardon of 5 silver.
The protesters who were complaining about what they had dubbed the “Grand Heating” have finally been silenced. They are now content to simply encourage anyone they speak with to share any information they may have on the “demon gates” with the high elven monk and his two friends.
After lunch, panic arose when a man ran into town to warn everyone that Saurans were sailing in on their long ships. To everyone’s relief, those aboard the ships were merely merchants of House Solberg looking to exchange goods and accept trade missions. They were particularly pleased to purchase rum from one of the local pirates. A couple of local Saurans also tried to negotiate a trade for their swords which they claimed to be magical with the ability to speak, but they were turned away when the swords remained silent.
Many encounters were had throughout the day with the frog-like humanoids called bullywugs and their king, most of which being on friendly terms despite the language barrier. There is now one bullywug within the holding that speaks Ratossan.
An Artheran warrior and her companion teamed up with a vampire-bat changeling to take on a lone demon which was massacring a farmer’s herds. They were successful in putting a stop to the creature’s rampage and taking it down.
Fabio and his dancing pirate crew joined forces with the two pirates whose ship they crashed into last month and their friends to take on multiple issues in the area. They came to the aid of the farmer whose compost pile was attacking his animals, found that the compost seemed to be possessing some of the animals and cured them. They cleared out another orc patrol as well as the kobolds who had the missing iron shipment. The crabmen who have taken residence near the docks were handled without any bloodshed (at least by the adventurers), thanks to Asherah and Non E Nome being able to speak to them.
